like I said in my last post about the event that I attend for the beginning of summer day, on that day actually there are 2 events at the same time and almost in the same location or in fact it was nearby. If you want to know the other event that I mean you read this. And for this time, I will share about the Journées Olympiques in Paris that was for 23 – 24 June 2017.
this event just for 2 days and attracting many people to come and see and even for participating in it. So, what’s you can found there?? And what kind of the event is for? Where is that? Is it for everyone and is it FREE? Okay, for answering those questions I will answer it one by one (so, don’t worry!! 😀).This Event called Journées Olympiques or Olympic day because of its kinds of support’s event for the Olympic 2024 that will be held in PARIS, France.
And this event what we can found? There are many things you can see and do there and for sure all are related to the sports which available on the Olympic Games. This event was located on the Alexandre III bridge and along of Seine river. When we were there we had welcomed with the big white wall with the drawing of the Famous place in Paris like Sacre-Coeur, Madelaine, Opera, etc and the drawing of kinds of sports. They allowed everyone to color that white wall full of drawing, you want to participate to coloring the wall also but you don’t have the color pencil or pen? No worry, they provide it for you so you just need to borrow it there and start to color or even to draw anything as you want as your imagination.

Like I said before, there are many attractions of sport there and it was located along the Seine’s River and along the Alexandre’s III Bridge. There is a spectacle for running in on the Seine river. What? Running on the river? How it was?? Hmm, calm down!! Yes on the Seine’s River, they made the floating running piste for 156 m long on the river so when I said they were running on the Seine’s River it didn’t mean they were really running directly on the water.
And also there is also the 12 and 17 M height of diving board for the professional diver on the Alexandre’s III Bridge. And there are 10 zones of activities that you can try to do 33 kinds of different sports that guided by the French athletes and handy sport or any professional.

I love this event very much even I’m not the fan of sports but really I like it. There are many things that you can try before especially for the sport. There is also the place or kind of sport that allowed the small kids to try it out, like the handball (Baby K really enjoy her session in handball place to do any sports activity).
besides that, there is a La Poste Stands that offer you to send the postcard with special design of the Journées Olympiques, there is 5-7 designs different in each postcard and they allow you to colour your postcard as you like (it’s the same principle like the big wall for colouring) and after you can directly send your postcard, they provide the post box for that, but unfortunately this postcard especially for Europe not really for other international destinations.
And also we had a kind of souvenir as a participant of this event, we had the T- shirt sponsored by Decathlon for the baby K because they just provide only for the kids Age Under 14 years old for getting this souvenir, (Baby K got size 8 years old t-shirt but it’s not really big for her, even more, it looks like a dress for her, she was very cute with that and everybody look on her cause of that 😀).
for the adult you can have the T-shirt also (but this T-shirt I don’t have it because I don’t know where they distributed it ) and also the stamp of French Flag, so there would be some people who work on that event usually the young people and they did the distribute all the merchandises of that event or even being like the information for the persons who are coming in this event cause of it was held on touristic place so not many some tourists who join on this event.
By the way, if you are hungry or want to snack, don’t worry because along the Seine’s River you will find many restaurants or food truck that sell some sandwich or burger with fries etc. and if you want to refill your water, here you will find some fountain water that safe for drink and you can refill your water bottle there beside it’s safe to drink , it’s really fresh and FREE also, so you don’t need to spend any euro just for looking fresh water to drink as they already provide it special for you.
So for the question is it FREE? And my answer is YES, it’s totally FREE and you can ask anybody for joining you there for spending your weekend freely and you can also do some sport activities if you never had time to have sport at home or gym or if you felt alone to do sport, So just join this event and you won’t be felt alone anymore for enjoying the sports.
Oh yeah, Is it really for everyone even for the disabled person? I can say yes it’s for everyone. And for the sunny day, of course, you will hydrated very soon and you will drink too much and it will end on the toilet, based on my last post about 8 facts of Paris, I talked about Public toilette in Paris and don’t worry about this event they provide the toilet even it’s not in all areas but it’s quite good 😀 (pfioouuhhh!!!).
Hopefully, that time was a sunny day so we can explore all the place for trying out or just for seeing everybody do the sports at the same time. They had also kind of competitions on each sport for fun. Honestly, this event was really big and many people who enjoy this. We had gone there on 24 June that the last day of the event, so we just could see the attractions of the athletes who running in the floating piste on the Seine’s river.
For this event, I found it’s really interesting for everyone and really educated for the kids, it gives the positive vibes with the sport. We had almost all the day there to visit all the zones and I’m sure we still missed some zones to visit but the day very quickly passing and time to go home as baby K already super tired of playing the handball special junior and running all the around.
When back home, we saw the report on the television about this event and actually if we could be more impatient to wait there and enjoy more our day there we could be met the new president of France Mr. Emmanuel Macron that attends this event too and he joins some tennis game also there in the bridge (ouffhh, we missed that ), but it’s okay whatever we had very super day with the sport and sunny day also. so see you in the next post !!
